Four years living and building in Bali.
TEKANU started from direct experience. Over four years spent designing and building villas and guesthouses in Bali, we worked closely with local craftspeople — and encountered solid teak at its best. Not as a catalogue item, but as a living material in skilled hands.
We saw how well it was worked here. The quality of Balinese teak, and the generational knowledge of the people who shape it, is exceptional. We decided to create a direct bridge between Bali’s workshops and the European interiors that deserve these pieces.
TEKANU is based in the Netherlands. We work with interior designers, architects, and boutique hospitality projects across Europe — bringing considered solid teak furniture directly from maker to project.

Each TEKANU piece is produced by specialist craftspeople in Bali with decades of experience in solid teak furniture. Frames are hand-jointed. Seats are hand-woven. Leather is hand-cut and fitted.
Material and finish samples are available on request. Product visits in Bali can be arranged for qualifying buyers who wish to review the full collection in person.

TEKANU works directly with interior designers, architects, and boutique hospitality projects, on a project basis. Orders are fulfilled by the shipment, with container orders available for larger projects and priority scheduling. We also work with concept stores and furniture retailers on a case-by-case basis.
